Accreditation & professional affiliations
No Ordinary Camps is proud to be connected to professional organizations that uphold high standards for camp safety, quality programming, and burn camp best practices.
These relationships help us strengthen risk management, learn from peer programs, and continue growing alongside the needs of campers and families.
American Camp Association
No Ordinary Camps is a member of the American Camp Association (ACA), a community of camp professionals dedicated to preserving, promoting, and improving the camp experience.
ACA accreditation includes a thorough review of health, safety, risk management, staff training, program quality, and operational standards. No Ordinary Camps is reevaluated every three years. Both our Summer Burn Camp program and its host, Cheley Colorado Camps, are ACA-accredited.
International Association of Burn Camps
No Ordinary Camps is also connected to the International Association of Burn Camps (IABC), a network of burn camp professionals and organizations supporting the physical, social, and psychological needs of burn survivors and their families.
IABC provides education, mentoring, guidance, recommended best practices, and connection among programs across North America.

Children’s Hospital Colorado is a legacy sponsor and partner of the Burn Camps Program and has been central to this work for more than four decades. As No Ordinary Camps moves forward as an independent nonprofit, we continue to work closely with Children’s Hospital Colorado to support the medical and emotional safety that has always defined camp.
Children’s Hospital Colorado is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and Colorado’s Regional Pediatric Trauma Center. Its burn team includes pediatric surgeons, plastic and hand surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, child life specialists, psychologists, and social workers who specialize in pediatric burn care.
Along with Children’s Hospital Colorado, our referring burn center partners help identify and connect children and families who may benefit from camp. These partnerships allow campers to attend with support from medical professionals who understand their care, recovery, and community reintegration needs.
We are grateful for the trust and partnership of Legacy Oregon Burn Center in Portland, Oregon; the Burn Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio; and Parkland Burn Center in Dallas, Texas.
Camp Takes a Community

No Ordinary Camps is made possible through a broad community of program partners, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters who believe in the power of camp for young burn survivors and their families.
Cheley Colorado Camps provides the setting, professional camp expertise, and outdoor adventure that shape Summer Burn Camp. Steamboat Ski & Ride School supports Winter Burn Camp by helping campers build skiing and snowboarding skills in a safe, encouraging mountain environment.
We are also grateful for firefighters, community organizations, corporate partners, and individual supporters who give their time, resources, and care to help sustain this work. Together, these partnerships help No Ordinary Camps offer programs where young burn survivors can build confidence, belonging, resilience, and lifelong connection.
