Winter Camp
Skiing and snowboarding
Ski with Camp! Older campers (13-18 years of age) who have shown an interest in participating in camp beyond just the summer are given the opportunity to attend Winter Burn Camp held in Steamboat Springs, CO. The campers are divided by skill level into winter sport groups—skiing and snowboarding. Each group has one instructor from the Steamboat Resort along with at least one adult camp counselor or hospital staff. The participants spend their days shredding the snow and learning new skills and tricks. In the evening, the group heads back to the Steamboat Grand Lodge to relax in the hot tub and get ready for the evening’s activity.
Real-life lessons
Campers are challenged to translate their experiences on the slopes into real-life lessons to take back with them after the skis and boards have been returned. A visit to Humble Ranch on the final night intentionally brings perspective to the week’s activities and gives the campers a chance to reflect on their experience while enjoying the last night with their friends!
